Thurso 14 October: The Viking Myth..
20 October 2010
Even the final night of the Mod did not deter 51 people from coming to Howie Firth’s talk on ‘The Viking Myth’, which showed a variety of disciplines from history and folklore to geography and linguistics can come together to provide a new picture of the Vikings to fit the flood of new data from DNA studies. The talk, hosted by Caithness Horizons, was dedicated to a great Caithness scholar, the late Donald Omand.
